What we do

Pacmann is an intensive and immersive data and business academy in Indonesia to spread knowledge and address the shortage of good talent in the industry. The story behind the boot camp comes from the difficulties faced while we were trying to hire new talent. No matter how much money we threw at the problem, we could not find people with the right skills. Then we figured we might as well train them ourselves. We know the education system is broken. Many online courses have sprung up, but with so many options to choose from, there is a genuine lack of direction in the learning path, and perhaps most importantly, motivation to learn dies after a few weeks of effort. It’s simply a hard path to travel on your own. To address all the above issues, we have designed boot camp programs to provide our students with the essential training/materials needed to build a solid career in data, business, and engineering. Pacmann has opened three schools: Sekolah Data, Sekolah Bisnis, and Sekolah Engineering. In delivering our programs and materials, we always pride ourselves on providing the highest scientific and clinical quality for our client partners and students. At our programs, students will be mentored by top-notch academic teams from leading universities and industries, combined with the industrial-fit and in-depth curriculum. 

What is Sekolah Engineering by Pacmann?

Sekolah Engineering is a group of programs to help everyone who wants to have excellent problem solving skills and get their aspiring engineering-related jobs. Currently it has one program: Software and Data Engineering. Our users will get experiences of video-based learning with in-depth curriculum and hands-on industry data tools.  To keep up with the practical and fundamental knowledge of engineering skills, we need to develop and iterate quality learning contents regularly. This is the reason why we are looking for some exceptional individuals in our team to help deliver our curriculum and education, especially for contents of Sekolah Engineering. Through Sekolah Engineering by Pacmann, we provide a way to make learning Software & Data Engineering accessible!

Who we’re looking for

Responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to research and develop our learning materials in the form of PowerPoint presentations, Jupyter Notebook, or others as required as well as develop exercises or assignments related to the class.
  • Collaboratively working alongside with Sekolah Engineering product team to ensure the course materials have the highest quality and are motivating to users.

The ideal qualifications:

  • Year end student that are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information System, or related fields.
  • Bachelor/Master/Doctoral students are very welcome to apply.
  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following topics:
  • Linux & Virtualization: Bash scripting; Network; Firewall; Virtual machine; Docker;
  • Web Development: HTML; CSS; JS; REST; Python (Flask); ORM; Redis;
  • Web Infrastructure: Web server (Apache & NGINX); CI/CD (GitHub Action); Monitoring (Sentry);
  • Self driven to pursue, develop and maintain subject matter expertise and a deep understanding of our business processes, tools, and resources.
  • Ready to thrive in a work culture with the following characteristics: collaboration and learning, data-driven practices, direct feedback, documentation, due diligence and preparation, professionalism and kindness, self-reflection, strategic thinking, and vulnerability.
  • Able to learn new concepts quickly and communicate effectively both written and verbal to others.
  • Able to communicate complex information simply, and write with attention to accuracy, audience, and concision.
  • Has a dynamic mindset with an open personality i.e. embracing challenges and feedback.

What to expect

  • Ability to work from anywhere.
  • Time commitment: 
    • Output-based, but we recommend setting aside a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Expected remuneration is around Rp 500.000 per content
  • Expected 2 Contents are delivered per Month
